2 days... and what a memorable night

today was such a hectic day.

i had tea with paul, who just got back from his exchange. it was definately good to see him though we didn't have much time to catch up.

then i rushed to meet with eva for some indian dinner

then i had to rush to opera house to see my friend darryl perform. he was to go on stage at 8.30pm except there were a lot of delays and he went on stage at 10pm. darryl's really talented! his set was going well until...
right before his last track, someone shouts "someone got stabbed!" I turned at looked at Ellie then to Evan. we all thought someone was joking around. after all, it was a hip hop show. then the club manager comes on the stage and tell us that we're under a lockdown until the police get here.

people are freaking out. this one girl near us was crying and calling everyone she knew. turns out her brother was outside for a smoke and she thought he got stabed.

an hour later the police come and take our info and ask us if we've seen anything.

on our way home, matt tells me over blackberry messenger that a 22 year old man and a father of 3 got stabbed according to the 11 oclock news.

it was really fucked up. it could have been anyone- even me... the guy was there at the wrong time and wrong place.

i learnt tonight that anything can happen at any time to anyone.
even though i was not a victim or a witness i'm shaken by it. despite me joking around on our way to the car. I have been to the opera house several times back in high school, despite the venue being in a somewhat of a sketchy area, nothing ever happened. i never imagined me ever being in this situation.

evan & i infront of the crime scene. i wanted a picture to remember... i may be smiling, but i was in total shock. i sometimes act goofy when i'm shocked.

"All this violence is just nonsense, just a bunch of kids who don't know the consequences - what was supposed to be a night of respect and unification turned into a fuckin' crime scene. Straight fuckery is what it is..." - Omnious
